The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

I have long since been of the opinion that if God’s people, the church, would take this passage seriously, we would see some great moves of God in these last days. The word “fervent” means intently, strenuously, earnestly. If God’s people would really get under the burden of the hour, we would see some victories for the cause of Christ. Many times we forget our purpose to be witnesses of that which God has done for us. ;

The question is raised, how and what do we pray?

Pray for the souls of those who would oppress us.
Pray that we would be able to practice
Pray that our leaders would recognize God.
That God would confound evil and turn them to foolishness.
That the attempts of the wicked would be thwarted.
That they would have no power against God.
That their plans would turn back on them. Esther 7;

We, God’s people, the church, sometimes get so caught up in the things of the world’s injustice that we forget that our purpose is to be the witness we ought to be for the Lord Jesus Christ. Our reason for prayer is not to prolong the coming of the Lord but to reach as many as we can before the coming of the Lord.
Our purpose in Christ has not and will not change. We are still charged with the responsibility of going into all the world with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, pointing men, women, boys and girls to Christ’s saving grace. ;
