“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

What a wonderful promise of the Word of God that we can know and have full assurance of our salvation. I can look back over many years of walking with the Lord and many times of being thankful that He had saved me and was now leading me. There have been times of rejoicing and times of sadness, but always assurance that no matter the circumstance God had saved me.

We are and have been ever grateful for the day that God in His mercy and grace made visitation at our house and brought salvation. Our lives were changed, new life began and we have been enjoying the great and good blessings of our Lord ever since.

I do trust that as you read this you too would take the time to rejoice in your salvation and look back on the great and good blessings of the Lord in your own life. I always find it a joy to go back and relieve my salvation experience.

Every time I look back on what God has done for me, I must, as well, rejoice in what He has done for my family. When God saved me my attention turned to my family because I knew many of them were not saved. I was concerned for my own family but for our extended family as well. We have several very close friends that we became very concerned about. We wanted them to know the Lord, too. We soon learned that this is what happens when you are saved; you become concerned for others who are not saved.

Maybe there is someone you know today that gives no evidence of being saved. Would it not be a good time to stop and pray for their souls? Maybe this could be a mother or father, a brother or sister or some other family member. Maybe your child or your husband or wife; someone you know who is not saved.

What a great promise of God that we can know that we have eternal life. That is worth sharing with someone lost.
